Uamp Update - May

Hello everyone, just an update on the progress of Uamp.

Firmware - Complete!

The factory spent the last two weeks programming all the uamp with firmware. The great news is it’s now complete. All units were tested as well to make sure the audio and all the buttons/inputs work correctly. This did take longer than expected but it is now done and we are very happy with the result.

Assembly - currently being completed

Right now the factory is connecting all the batteries to the Uamp circuit boards and then placing them inside the aluminium enclosures. 3500 units are now complete and all have been retested to ensure everything is working properly (extra quality check). The remaining units should be finished this week. The last step will be to place all Uamps and accessories into the packaging boxes and then sent off the logistics warehouse for shipping. The factory says this will happen next week.

Shipping - Final stage

We will be making sure everybody’s addresses are confirmed and updated before we ship. This is be done by email. Also if you have messaged us with an address change, we will be getting back to you shortly.

Thanks again for your patience.

about 8 years ago – Wed, Apr 27, 2016 at 12:18:24 AM

Hello everyone,

Just an update on Uamp.

Uamp will be shipping in close to 2 weeks time. Everybody will be receiving their orders in May.

Currently all the boards are made with components, and working well.

Next is programming firmware onto the boards and last testing before final assembly/packaging.

Firmware - the program is complete, the factory will no use a special machine to transfer the firmware to all the boards. They will run tests to ensure the firmware is working well on each board. Firmware will be happening this week.

Assembly/Packaging - Next, the finished boards will go into the enclosure and tested once again. Once in the enclosure the Uamps will go into packaging boxes including all accessories - audio cables, usb charging cable, clip, felt bag and cable tie. Assembly and packaging will happen next week.

Shipping - Lastly all Uamps will be taken to our logistics supplier and shipped off immediately to all backers. Which can take about 4-5 days depending on your location.

 We apologize for the wait,

Thanks

Manufacturing Update - Uamp

Hi Everyone,

We want to give you an update on all that’s happened over the past month and a half and also on the delivery of units.

Everything is going well, we a just a little behind schedule. Uamp will be ready to ship by the end of April.

CHINA, SHENZHEN

We have been in China for 3 weeks now, busy working with factories to produce Uamps and all the accessories. We are very satisfied with the quality of work we have seen here and love the ability to be able to work directly with the factories.

Why another delay?

Well when one thing goes wrong or is held up then it delays the whole project. We had to change one of the components on Uamp, a capacitor, because the one the factory ordered was incorrect. We could have kept it but that would mean the audio quality would have been diminished. So the lead time for the factory to make the capacitor is 3-4 weeks. So next week they will be ready and we can continue with the assembly.

Audio Cables + USB cables

Wow, we were in love with this factory, they helped us design the custom and premium braided cables that we wanted. We have inspected and tested many cables and we are ecstatic with the quality.

Packaging

After a few discussions we came up with the final design for the packaging and have things ready to be shipped.

Felt bag

Another place we visited was the fabric manufacturer to oversee the felt bags. We inspected to make sure the final product is stitched well and colors of the fabric are correct. Thousands of bags made with great quality materials!

Next update coming soon

As you can see we have been busy and although not a acceptable excuse for our lack of communication, we have just been 110% focused on getting Uamp out. Bart and myself just want to apologize for the lack of communication. We will do what we can in the next few weeks to remedy that as much as possible.

Final parts coming together

We still have 5-6 weeks in China, and Uamp will be completed and shipped before we leave. Every stage of the process is being tested and checked by us. It really the final stages being done now, once the assembly is completed we will be ready to ship.

Thanks again and we will update you as units start to come off the line and are sent to our shipping fulfillment facility.

UAMP - Manufacturing Update February

Hi Everyone,

Everything is on track! Our manufacturer is doing a fantastic job. They have finished making all the circuits boards. They have setup the PCBA machines, which is just how they place on the components on the circuit boards. Tooling for the CNC machines is complete for the enclosure and buttons.

Packaging is underway, boxes being made. Audio cables, usb charging cables and clips are all underway.

Programming/firmware

Programming and firmware are completed, and all the extra features work. We manged to improve battery life and EQ settings. Custom EQ has also been added and we are very proud of how this feature has turned out.

LOGO ON THE FRONT OF THE ENCLOSURE (GONE!)

After we showed you all the latest design with the logo on the front of the case we had alot of feedback. A few comments we received "Can you put the logo on the back of Uamp instead of the front? its kinda ugly for it to be this big and on the front" / "that's a huge and ugly logo" / "where'd that huge logo on one side come from?".

Firstly, thank you for telling us what you think it really helps us decide what you like more. You told us you wanted it removed and to keep the simplicity of the design. So we have done just that! NO MORE LOGO, back to the original design.

ON THE WAY TO CHINA!

We will arrive in China (Shenzhen) March 6th to oversee the last stages of manufacturing. This way we can be 100% sure in the quality and make sure every step goes smoothly. We will be bringing a whole heap of testing equipment with us.

If you happen to be in Shenzhen during March let us know we would be happy to meet up!

Something Extra!

As we stated in our last update we wanted to give something extra to say thank you for being patient. We know it's been a long time and so although we can't make up for it, we can try give back something. So now every Uamp will include special Velcro cable ties to help better cable management.

BIG THANKS, WE LOVE YOU

We know you've been waiting a long time, and we very much appreciate all your support. We can't thank you enough. Any questions or comments please let us know!

Much Love

Bart + Joe
